Jaén.- Jaén University leads the fields of computer science, engineering and mathematics nationally in terms of the quality of publications and the impact they make, according to the CYD 2023 report, presented on Wednesday and prepared by the Knowledge and Development Foundation.

Thus, the report notes that UJA stands out in the fields of computer science, engineering, and mathematics. “The report thus highlights that UJA ranks first nationally in the three previously mentioned areas in terms of excellence with leadership,” explains the Vice Chancellor for Strategy and Digital University at UJA. Which explains that the index measures the proportion of published works that fall within the 10%. It is one of the most cited works that is also topped by the signatory institution. “It is a way to measure not only in terms of quantity, but also taking into account the size of the universities,” he adds.
In computer science, UJA tops the rankings with a score of 13.69%, followed by the University of Girona (12.12%), and in third place is the University of Cordoba (11.80%). In addition, UJA also leads the Natural Impact Index.
In engineering, the top three places were occupied by JA University, Almeria University and Cordoba University, with percentages of 13.45%, 10.17% and 9.27%, respectively. In mathematics, the top three places were UJA with 13.64%, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena with 11.11%, and the University of Seville with 9.36%.
Other data included in the document indicates the scientific production of Jaén University between 2019 and 2022, which amounts to 4,601 publications, which represents an increase of 7.35% compared to the period 2018 and 2021.
