In recent years, hybrid work with the possibility of working at home has established itself as one of the most desirable working methods for workers in Colombia. What once appeared as a temporary response during the pandemic has now become a permanent and ideal option for many. It’s not just a way to stay productive; The impact of flexible working on employees’ quality of life has led to 70% of companies in the country choosing this type of model.
A recent study conducted by WeWork in collaboration with Michael Page shows that these work models are not only productive, but also essential for improving employee well-being. The possibility of working from home or in hybrid ways allows employees to achieve a better balance between their work responsibilities and personal lives. This flexibility promotes better physical and mental health, while promoting a culture of responsibility and commitment in both areas.
Juan Carlos Peñaloza, CEO of WeWork Colombia, highlighted how flexible work trends are adapting to the needs of the modern employee. “At WeWork, we have witnessed the changes in the world of work and how the implementation of flexible work models adapts to the needs of the modern employee. We believe that providing choices that allow employees to decide where and how they work is essential to enhancing their well-being and quality of life,” said Penaloza.
The study indicates that 71% of participating employees reported a change in their priorities, reflecting an increasingly strong desire to balance their work and personal lives. This shift in focus towards holistic well-being demonstrates that companies that prioritize the mental health and well-being of their employees can create sustainable and successful work environments in the long term.
In addition, flexible work hours and location options allow employees to manage their daily activities more efficiently, spend more time with their families, and avoid long commutes. Not only does this represent a significant saving of time and money, but it also benefits businesses by reducing the costs associated with maintaining physical offices, thus improving economic and environmental sustainability.
In this sense, working from home under the hybrid model is presented as a way that not only responds to the challenges of the present, but also contributes to a more sustainable and humane future of work. Companies like WeWork are at the forefront of this change, leading the way toward a more flexible world of work that adapts to today’s needs.
