The Milwaukee Academy of Sciences expands with a new campus in August

MILWAUKEE (TELEMUNDO WI) – The Milwaukee Academy of Sciences has announced plans to open a new campus in August at 1441 N. 24th St. The new campus will initially serve four-year-old students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Founded in 2000, MAS provides a STEM-focused education to Milwaukee students. According to a press release issued by MAS on Thursday, January 4, the decision to open a second campus comes after the academy added 250 middle and high school students to its main campus, an expansion driven by the increasing number of applications and retention rates in the elementary grades.

The new campus will reflect MAS's current curriculum and educational objectives and serve an additional 600 students, alleviating the pressure of an extensive waiting list, which last year included approximately 1,600 students.

The expansion is not only a response to community needs, but also an initiative to improve the local workforce through education.

CEO Anthony McHenry mentioned the importance of the new campus in the school's press release.

He said: “Families deserve high-quality education for their children, and today represents an important opportunity for us to respond to this call.”

Applications for fall 2024 will open on February 1, and MAS is offering employment opportunities for teachers and staff to support the new campus. in the place Mas website More details about registration and recruitment can be found here.
