The exact date the sun will explode, according to NASA astronomers

politeness

Astronomers from NASA and experts from the University of Warwick have investigated the future of our star in detail and revealed that the Sun will die in about 5 billion years. Although this cycle is slow and predictable, it has devastating consequences for the solar system, including the end of life on Earth. This phenomenon will occur when the Sun consumes all its hydrogen, transforming from a stable star into a red giant, which will increase in size and radiate a huge amount of energy.

by the reason

During this expansion phase, planets like Mercury and Venus will be sucked into the solar atmosphere. The Earth will not escape unscathed, because the radiation and intense heat will cause the oceans to evaporate and the atmosphere to spread out into space. At that point, no life form would be viable. Although the star will not explode immediately, it will lose stability and collapse into what is known as a white dwarf, which is the final state of the Sun.

Imminent explosion or gradual process?

The entire process would not be a cataclysmic supernova-style explosion. Instead, scientists explain that the sun will gradually go out. This leaves room for humans to look for alternatives to survive, although climate change and increased sun brightness could make Earth uninhabitable long before the star’s final collapse.

In fact, experts assert that even in about a billion years, solar radiation will be so intense that it will cause life as we know it to disappear, eroding Earth’s atmosphere and destroying the oceans. This puts humanity’s future in a scenario that requires the colonization of other planets or even star systems. Mars, for example, could become a more habitable place in the time before the end of the Sun, but that would depend on advances in space exploration.
