The Dominican Republic donates 56,800 vaccines from AstraZeneca to Costa Rica

The President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, thanked the government of the Dominican Republic for donating 56,800 AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19.

To date, the Dominican government has not reported a vaccine donation to Costa Rica.

Let’s go get vaccinated CCSSdeCostaRica,” the president wrote on his Twitter account with several pictures of the arrival of the vaccinations.

In his address to the United Nations General Assembly last September, President Louis Abenader confirmed that the government had donated about 820,000 doses to countries in the region.

So far, donations have been announced to Honduras with 101,000 doses and to Guatemala with 304 thousand doses.

“We have donated in solidarity about 820,000 doses to the countries of our region, convinced that we will only be safe when we are all vaccinated,” the president said.
