New York (CNN Business) – Apple is preparing to launch its first product this year, as the iPad Pro and AirPods are expected to be refreshed. Here’s what we know about the Apple event:
The company has sent out press invitations for a virtual event, with the slogan “Spring Loaded,” which will take place on Tuesday, April 20, at its Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Ahead of the announcement, Siri revealed the date when users asked when the company would host the launch of its next big product.
Apple is expected to release an update to the iPad lineup: an updated iPad Pro with an ultra-bright LED display and a redesigned iPad mini with smaller bezels and a larger screen, according to Bloomberg. Reportedly, the company is also preparing the next generation of AirPods (AirPods 3), with a design that is more in line with the advanced AirPods Pro, along with support for spatial audio and touch controls.
Apple users will be able to choose the gender of the English voice for Siri
Apple’s MacBook Pro and MacBook Air should also be updated, but it is unclear if that will be announced next week. Apple recently discontinued its iMac Pro line, which was the most powerful computer the company offered, and the original HomePod to focus more on the HomePod mini.
There are also rumors that the company is working on smart glasses and an augmented reality / virtual reality headset, but it’s unlikely that we know anything about any of these products this month.
In recent years, Apple has released spring releases for Apple TV + and the iPhone SE line.
