A few months after the launch of the latest 2023 model, the first rumors about the long-awaited iPhone 16 have already begun to leak.
Join us as we explore potential release dates, Apple predictions, potential pricing, and the innovations we could see in Apple's next flagship phone.
When will the iPhone 16 be launched?
News about the iPhone 16 is expected to emerge at an event likely scheduled for September 2024, during Apple's annual launch event. Possible dates for this event could be September 3 or 10, which are typical days for the company's annual launches. However, we can't rule out September 4 or 11 as options either.
Will Apple continue to surprise us?
WWDC 2023's final major event in June impressed us, as we celebrated the App Store's 15th anniversary with exciting new features. The introduction of the iPhone 15 in September was also notable for its Dynamic Island and new roadside assistance service. Now, all eyes are on the future with iPhone 16, which promises significant innovations in both design and hardware.
As for RAM, the leaks indicate that all models will have 8 GB, which is an advance for the standard and plus versions, but not for the Pro models. In addition, it is rumored that the Pro models could support Wi-Fi 7 and contain a new 5G modem, Which means faster speeds that the standard iPhone 16 models can't match.
How much will the iPhone 16 cost?
As for prices, they could remain similar to those of the iPhone 15, although some analysts point out that the iPhone 16 could be more affordable due to changes in the chip production process. However, if production costs continue to rise, Apple may have to adjust prices to protect its margins. The current colors (yellow, pink and black) will likely be available for the series.
What does the iPhone 16 have in store for us?
There is already some certainty. In terms of screen size, an increase in diagonals is expected, reaching 6.3 inches for the Pro version, and 6.9 inches for the Ultra and Plus versions, while the standard version should remain at 6.1 inches. In addition to the size, the iPhone 16 line could feature brighter displays. Apple is rumored to be considering more power-efficient technologies to improve battery life.
After introducing the customizable “Action” button on the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple could add a new capacitive button called “Capture.” This button, located directly below the power button on the right side, will focus on photography and creating multimedia content, especially 3D content for virtual reality.
As for the camera, it is expected that even the standard iPhone 16 Pro will retain the quad lenses of the previous model and, thanks to the slightly larger body, will allow the diagonal to be increased to 6.3 inches, as mentioned above.
iPhone 16 Pro or Max?
The traditional division between standard and Pro models could evolve in 2024 with the possibility of introducing an Ultra variant. The Pro Max is expected to transform into Ultra, confirming its status as a flagship and not just an upgraded version of the regular Pro. The supposed A17 chip, which will become the A18, will be exclusive to Si models, and there's talk of a “super telephoto” for the Pro Max alongside a 48MP ultra-wide camera. The most significant camera upgrades will likely be reserved for the Pro, Pro Max and/or Ultra models, which could use printed glass for telephoto lenses, facilitating more powerful zoom without sacrificing the thin and light design.
As we await the launch of the iPhone 16 in September 2024, expectations are high and rumors point to exciting innovations in both design and hardware for Apple's next flagship.
