six years ago Eugenia Margherita Ramos Davila She began her studies in Industrial Engineering in Saltillo (Coahuila), where she belongs, a project that she abandoned after making the decision to enter the medical school (FACMED) from UANL.
Due to her academic achievements, she received an application from FACMED as a candidate to receive Recognition of academic excellencewhat is the Pfizer Scientific Institute (ICP) since 2008; This honor was given at a ceremony held around November 3 from Mexico City, where 83 medical students were honored nationally.
This event was presided over by IPC President and Director, Constanza Losada; head Mexican Association of Colleges and Schools of Medicine (AMFEM), Physician Jorge Eugenio Valdez Garcia; Minister of Health and former researcher, José Angel Cordova Villalobos; The students received a diploma and a medal which they will receive at a later time.
Delivery, discipline and advocacy
Eugenia Margherita Ramos Davila, 26, confirms that the decision to attend UANL medical school came after analyzing her options for undergraduate studies, finding that the academic program covered more years of training and that it included a portion of good practice.
In an interview, she realized that she was obsessive and fearful in her actions, and asserted that this prompted her to discipline. From his entry to FACMED, he remembers that he loved what he read, what he studied, and everything seemed so interesting to him.
These two things together have led me to strive for the best results. Especially because I am fully aware that my only responsibility was to be a student, compared to my classmates who had to work to pay for their studies, so I was disrespectful for not doing my best, which made me look for the best results.”
He found extra motivation to think about his future patients, “At the end of the day, the goal is to be a doctor and that includes treating people, and a good motivator was to think that all he was doing was being a good character where people put their trust.”
Beyond Excellence
Ramos Davila, who graduated in January 2020 and took first place in the generation and thanks to this he got UANL Academic Excellence AwardHe said that he always tried to get involved in fields other than studying his subjects.
Academics have been my priority, but I’ve tried to get involved in teaching environments, throughout my career I’ve been a teacher in anatomy departments (4 years) and the rest I’ve been in internal medicine (in diagnostic imaging), and I think that complements my training in an important way.”
“Since I started my career I have been looking forward to getting involved in research projects, but it didn’t come to fruition until I did social work with Dr. Jose Carlos Jaime, who put me a lot of confidence and that was when it paid off which I started doing five years ago,” he said.
In the hematology department at Dr. José Eleuterio González, Eugenia Margarita Ramos, carried out her social service where she was able to write scientific articles related to immune thrombocytopenia and leukemia, under the direction of Dr. José Carlos Jaime.
“And since we are the year facing an epidemic, we focus our work on the protocol for transplant patients; of course it is an extra effort to get involved in other activities, but I have always been surrounded by my excellent teammates.
This award given to me is the result of work done six years ago and I thank you very much for taking the time to recognize it, and I believe that since there are so many students, I can think of at least 10 people whose stories are worth sharing.”
