NEW YORK — The prospect of recreating one of the most iconic photos in New York City history can raise spirits and instill fear in those afraid of heights.
A New Interactive Experience”Beam“Now open at Rockefeller Center, allowing visitors to recreate the famous 1932 photo”Lunch at the top of a skyscraper“One Lunch on top of a skyscraper 30 Rock shows 11 workers eating lunch on a steel beam above the streets of Manhattan during construction.
Visitors sit strapped to a replica of a steel beam on the 69th floor, then lifted 12 feet above the observation deck and taken into a 180-degree spin. It offers some of the most beautiful views of Central Park and Manhattan – it looks very different from when the original photo was taken 91 years ago.
After spending time more than 800 feet above street level, guests can return indoors and enjoy a new dining experience, Dishman Speyer said. Weather chamberIt provides mild refreshment.
Tickets for “The Beam” can be combined with general tickets for “Top of the Rock”. They cost $25 extra and include a digital photo.
It comes before Tishman Speyer unveils another new experience, the Sky Elevator on the 70th floor, described as a circular glass platform that lifts visitors 30 feet above the highest ceiling. Its opening is planned for 2024.
