When HBO Max launched in May 2020, tens of millions of Roku users regretted being left out of their streaming device, as they couldn’t access a great deal of classic and premium content, even if they were subscribers.

Since the allure of the HBO brand, HBO Max’s exclusive rights to popular shows, as well as all Warner Brothers films in 2021 will be broadcast on the platform as well as in theaters, the two companies seemed to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. And now, watching HBO Max on Roku couldn’t be easier.

How to watch HBO Max on Roku?

HBO Max is the newest and newest HBO channel available on your compatible Roku streaming device.

HBO Max is compatible with Roku streaming player or with Roku TV™ if running Roku OS 9.3 and above. To find this information, go to the Home screen and select Settings & System [Settings & System], then tap About [About].

If your previous generation Roku device isn’t compatible with Roku OS 9.3 and you’d like to watch HBO Max, visit your Roku product pages and order the new Roku streaming device that meets your needs.

Existing HBO or HBO Max customers, who have never added a channel to their Roku device, should follow the instructions below to add HBO Max:

– On the main page, go to Broadcast Channels
– Select “New and Premium” [New & Notable] and “Movies and Television” [Movies & TV] in the channel store

– Click on HBO Max and “Add Channel” [Add Channel] To install it on your home page

If you’re not an HBO subscriber, you can sign up and pay for HBO Max on Roku directly using Roku Pay.

On the other hand, subscribers to the old version of HBO should find that it has been automatically updated to the new HBO Max on their homepage. If not, you can simply

– Select the HBO . tab

– Press the star key on the remote control

– Choose the option “Check for updates”.

– HBO Code must be changed to HBO Max

You may be eligible to get HBO Max for free, depending on which provider you contract with HBO Now or HBO.

Once installed, an HBO Max icon will appear on your home screen along with other broadcast channels. If you prefer, you can move the channel to another network location using the star button on the Roku remote.

Is HBO Max available if I subscribe to HBO on a Roku channel?

If you’ve been subscribed to HBO on a Roku channel since February 25, 2021, your subscription will automatically change to an HBO Max subscription at no additional cost. As of that date, each time you visit my.roku.com to manage your Roku Pay subscriptions, your subscription will indicate that it is for HBO Max and not HBO on the Roku channel.
