After completing her official meeting with Edmundo Gonzalez in Rome, on October 28, the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, called for respect for human rights in Venezuela.

The Prime Minister announced on her X account (formerly Twitter): “I have reiterated my call for an immediate end to human rights violations, arbitrary arrests, and restrictions on basic freedoms, especially against the political opposition.” Civil rights in Venezuela

Edmundo Gonzalez thanked Giorgia Meloni for her support and highlighted the essential role of the Venezuelan community in Italy in strengthening bilateral relations.

In addition, the elected Venezuelan president expressed his intention to attract Italian investments to strategic sectors in Venezuela, in an effort to strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life of its citizens.

This meeting is in addition to the various international trends that Gonzalez has followed since his election on July 28, in a process that sparked controversy in Venezuela and beyond its borders.
