Former San Salvador’s Mayor Ernesto Mushond has been appointed adviser to the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almacro, chairman of the Hemisphere Organization, confirmed on Tuesday.
“Ernesto Mushond has agreed to join as an adviser to the OAS General Secretariat,” he said on his Twitter account.
Muizhond responded to a tweet thanking him for the designated position. “It would be a great honor and a privilege to serve his person and such an important organization,” said the former Salvador official, a member of the Arena party.
At this time, no further details have been released on the date of his inauguration. Ernesto Mushond was in charge of the capital mayor’s office from 2018 to 2021.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) faces a judicial process in the country accused of illegal groups and election fraud.
An initial hearing is scheduled for tomorrow to review precautionary measures after an appeal for dismissal was rejected by San Salvador’s Second Court of Inquiry.
The court agreed that it would take place on Friday afternoon, in which it would be determined whether Muishond would continue to be executed in freedom or whether he would be ordered to be remanded in custody.
