New York – Fast food chain McDonald’s will open its first pilot location this month in Bolingbrook (Illinois). Cuz Macwhich it offers as its own franchise of convenience stores that focuses primarily on “refreshing” drinks with fairly diverse flavor combinations.
The announcement was made yesterday by the chain itself on its website, specifying that the CosMc stores, located in the space, will focus on “beverage exploration” and will combine “bold and unexpected” flavors with vibrant colours.
Among the drinks that will be sold at CosMc’s are green tea lemonade, raspberry lemonade, and even Mexican iced churro coffee.
CosMc’s will also sell some products that can already be found at McDonald’s and are very popular with its customers, such as egg McMuffins, M&M McFlurries or McPops.
The first Bolingbrook location will serve as a “test”, like ten other CosMc pilot locations that the company intends to open in the Dallas and San Antonio (Texas) areas by the end of 2024. If successful, they will aim to expand this new location.
According to the company, this new location was born out of nostalgia and, in fact, is named after the series’ former mascot, an alien who starred in the company’s ads in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
As in regular McDonald’s restaurants, customers will be able to use self-service and order food from their cars through the building’s windows.
The CosMc logo, although it includes a recognizable lowercase M, is different from the usual logo of the world’s first fast food chain.
