According to the complaint, the watch’s battery swells, which puts pressure on the screen, causing it to detach from the device, break, or crack, “exposing users to its sharp edges.”

A group of people from California (USA) filed a lawsuit against Apple on Thursday over alleged defects in its smartwatch, reach Camel

According to the class action complaint, all Apple Watch models from the beginning to the Apple Watch Series 6 may contain “undisclosed and unreasonably serious security risks.” In particular, they ensure that the watch’s battery swells, putting pressure on the screen, causing it to detach from the device, break, or crack, “exposing its sharp edges” to users.

In this way, the disadvantage will not be that the battery may swell, but that there is not enough space or some other mechanism to protect it.

The lawsuit also alleges that the company intentionally manufactured Apple Watch models with this defect, but denies its existence.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages, in addition to the disclosure of the defective Apple Watch.
