(CNN) – Pfizer CEO Albert Burla says people will need a third dose of the vaccine 6 to 12 months after the first round.
Real-world information shows that the Pfizer vaccine is effective against the worrying variant of the corona virus, first seen in South Africa known as B.11351, Borla said during the CVS Health Live event posted on Facebook on Thursday. “Security is declining over time, but even at six months it is still very, very high,” he said.

“If you ask me, based on this data, I think there will be a need for restructuring,” Burla said.
Burla said it remains to be seen how many times the third dose will occur, but “a third dose will be needed between six and 12 months, after which there will be a restoration. But all of this needs to be confirmed.
“In epidemics, you are protected just like your neighbors,” Burla said. That is why it is important for all countries to vaccinate their citizens.
