A 92-year-old Cuban man is accused of inappropriately touching his 15-year-old neighbor at a Miami apartment building last Friday.
The elderly man – identified as Roberto Gutiérrez – was arrested on Saturday A charge of lewd conduct on a minor under 16 years of ageAs reported Local newspaper Citing an arrest report from the Miami Police Department.
This incident has happened especially in the area that includes the neighborhood Liberty City and Little RiverAlthough the exact address has been omitted from the police report for privacy reasons.
According to authorities, on Oct. 4 at 4:20 p.m., the minor said Gutierrez was staring at him when he entered his apartment.
He says that after a while the old man knocked on his door, thinking it was his father and opened it. According to the report, Gutierrez used his walker to open the door and enter the victim’s apartment.
Upon entering, the man said “The victim froze when he touched the young man’s left shoulder and arm, saying he was handsome,” the police said.
Authorities indicated that Gutierrez went into the living room and asked the boy to sit on the bed, which he refused — in an attempt to get him to leave — saying he had to go to soccer practice.
When Gutierrez was between the main door and the hallway, the younger man pointed. She leaned towards him and tried to kiss his lips.However, the victim backed away to avoid the kiss and then pushed the door to get him out of the apartment.
According to authorities, Roberto Gutierrez later told detectives he went to the victim’s apartment to ask for someone. He admitted to “touching the victim’s hand” but denied saying he was cute or trying to kiss him.
The elderly man was detained and transported to the Metro West Detention Center. He was held on $2,500 bail. At the time of this writing, he is no longer listed in the county jail registry.
