(CNN Español) – Today, Monday, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, through its verified account on Twitter, that the government of the questioned president in Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and the opposition They reached two agreements entitled the Agreement on the Ratification and Defense of Venezuela’s Sovereignty over Guyana Iquipa and the Partial Agreement on the Social Protection of the Venezuelan People.
The Norwegian government added that the two parties agreed to establish mechanisms to recover and obtain resources to meet the needs of the Venezuelan people focusing on the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, and reported that there has been progress in the mechanisms of consultation with political and social actors so that the negotiations are as inclusive as possible.
Similarly, the Norwegian government said that it was agreed on the first point of discussion for the next meeting, which will focus on respect for the rule of constitutional law, particularly in the justice system and respect for the institutional framework enshrined in the Venezuelan Constitution.
The statement ends by reporting that both parties will continue to discuss the state’s economy and social protection measures, but does not specify the new date for talks.
