Immune Inflammatory Diseases Project

The Spanish Association of Primary Care Physicians (Semergen) has launched Uniimidted, a strategic initiative aimed at increasing knowledge of IMID –immune inflammatory diseases, for its acronym in English, between a healthy community and between society in general.

IMIDs are a group of diseases whose common feature is Inflammation of some tissues as a result of a change in the immune system. It is common for a patient with IMID to also have some of these and other comorbidities. the The main difficulty is their heterogeneity Oftentimes, it may come from ignorance that makes diagnosis and treatment too late or inadequate. Therefore, it is necessary not only that these diseases be better known and made more clear, but also that All specialists involved, especially primary care physicians, are coordinated.

The Uniimidted project arises to meet these needs and, in this first phase, is based on three pillars: Create A structured and accredited training program for primary care physicians; Prepare a series of consensus documents on the diagnosis and treatment of IMID; And generate valuable materials about IMID for primary support clinicians and patients.

Specialists and patients work on the project

Up to 30 specialists in family and community medicine, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, hospital pharmacy, and nursing are working side by side to develop this project.
