The World FZO has elected as Vice President of that organization Mr. José Tomás Contreras, Director and former President of the Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona).
The World FZO based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, It is the organization that brings together all the free zones in the world, which contributes 40% of global trade, creates more than 70 million direct jobs, and has a presence in nearly 150 countries, explains a statement.
According to the CEO of World FZO, Samir Hamrouni, the motivation behind Contreras’s election as Vice President of that organization was A long history of promoting and managing one of the most successful free zones in Latin America, He represented the Itapu Industrial Park (PIISA) in the Dominican Republic, as well as for his union work for the sector during his tenure as director of Adzona and other local and international organizations.
The Dominican Republic is a founding member of the World FZO, and since 2015 it hosts the headquarters of the Regional Office for Latin America North, which allows the consolidation of the Dominican Free Zones as a pioneer in the region and one of the most successful developments in the world.
