The new option means that the user will be able to access a call with his friends or family even if it has already started.
WhatsApp group calls will now look like Zoom or Google Meet. The company aims to provide the ability to join ongoing group calls, rather than having to be online the moment the call starts.
The new feature means that the user will be able to access a conference call between friends or family even if it has already started. In addition, group members will be able to “disconnect and rejoin during the conversation”, as long as they were initially invited, according to Hinge Company in a blog post.
“The ability to join a group call later removes the stress of having to answer once it’s started. Plus, it makes group calls on WhatsApp as automatic and easy as a personal conversation,” the statement read.
Due to the huge popularity of WhatsApp, this can be a useful feature for many people who are communicating through this messaging service.
The new feature will be available from Monday. The interface will also be updated so that the user can “see who’s in the conversation and who’s been invited but not yet joined”. Group calls updated in this way will continue to be end-to-end encrypted.
