Academics from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Playa Ancha participated in a related workshop on cultural exchange,The guest academic gave an interesting lecture to the members of the department, in which he addressed the concept of cultural exchange through the existing core curricula. In this way, he showed that “intercultural differences are not only about cultural differences, but fundamentally about unequal power.”

The UPLA researcher explained that the intercultural dimension affects multiple spaces in our daily lives. For example, recent migration has transformed the legal system, trade, education, health and housing, and therefore presents challenges in terms of public policy and regional planning.

In this sense, this example of rethinking intercultural interaction represents a major contribution for the members of the department, which in turn has intercultural dialogues and regional studies as its goal and foundation.
