Former President Donald Trump may regret choosing JD Vance As his running mate in the presidential election.
This was revealed by various reports based on people close to the Republican campaign during the Republican National Convention (NRC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“Republicans I spoke to today, some of them still reeling from celebrating what looked to many like a victory night celebration in Milwaukee, expressed shock at the news of Biden’s departure,” wrote journalist Tim Alberta from The Atlantic.
“Party officials left the town believing that the race was almost over. “Now they were faced with the reality of reinventing a campaign (which was by all accounts geared to defeat Biden) against a new challenger,” it added.
That statement was shared by Alberta, who noted she had spoken with several Republicans Trump may regret choosing Vance.
“The most surprising thing I heard from Trump allies yesterday was JD Vance’s question: A choice, they agreed. [nació] Arrogance,” Alberta wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
According to sources, former President Trump’s campaign should have focused on persuading undecided voters.
Business Insider picked up The Atlantic’s report and included political science experts The MAGA group has “legitimate reasons” to be concerned about Vance’s election.
Fears have been confirmed with the arrival of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee and the departure of President Joe Biden, against whom the Republican campaign had a clear strategy about his health, crucially.
“Trump’s allies say they have confidence in his campaign plan designed to defeat Biden,” Business Insider noted.
However, experts recognize that the choice of Vice President Harris presents a new challenge for the Republican Party.
