CCMIJU is revolutionizing future medicine to improve medical care and quality of life.

The Jesús Usón Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CCMIJU) has established itself as a global reference area in biomedical research, medical-surgical innovation and training of health professionals.

Located in Cáceres, the Center offers unique facilities of over 20,000 square meters available to the medical and scientific community, providing a pioneering environment in which many valuable milestones and contributions have been achieved that have revolutionized clinical practice and had a significant impact on improving medical care and the quality of life of patients.

CCMIJU plays a crucial role in educating and training health professionals in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, and promoting personalized teaching for the future generation of surgeons.

Since its opening in 2007, it has trained more than 26,000 healthcare professionals, developed more than 150 R&D and innovation projects, published more than 700 scientific articles and obtained more than 28 patents.

Its training programme, recognised locally and internationally, offers around 120 activities annually attracting more than 1,500 professionals who choose its facilities.

The key to its success lies in its commitment to collaboration, whose extensive network includes leading researchers, universities, hospitals and companies in medicine and surgery from around the world.

Likewise, CCMIJU stands out for its participation in research and innovation projects relevant to the health field, which allow improving hospital care and laying the foundations for future medicine; as well as its active participation in national and international conferences and events.

CCMIJU became the host venue for the 35th Annual Congress of the International Society of Medical
Innovation and Technology (iSMIT) which will be held from 26 to 28 September 2024.
