Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Ambassador to the United Nations, met with Dominican President Louis Abinader in Ecuador, where they discussed priority issues for the two countries, including the fight against corruption, organized crime and Govt-19.
The senior diplomat posted the information on his Twitter account. The meeting took place in Ecuador, where they attend the inauguration of President Guillermo Lasso.
The U.S. envoy to the UN said he was pleased to discuss with Abinadar the priority issues they work with, his country and Dominican authorities, the fight against COVID-19, transnational crime and corruption.
U.S. Diplomatic Humanitarian Organizations and the UN Met with allies and discussed the current response to the migration and refugee crisis in the region.
The Dominican Presidency issued a brief statement stating that no details were given on the issues discussed, noting the two sides’ commitment to traditional friendship and the decision to further strengthen their relationship.
In addition to President Abinader, the government said Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez and Ecuadorian Dominican Ambassador Militis Cabral were in attendance.
