The Powerball jackpot is sold in Michigan; A million dollar bill was sold in Connecticut

A Michigan resident started the year yesterday as a millionaire Hit all six Powerball numbers and win a total of $842,400,000.

However, many smaller prize-winning tickets were sold in the tri-state area.

The winning numbers from the January 1 draw were: 12,21,42,44,49 and Powerball was 01.

The Connecticut Lottery confirmed that a $1 million ticket was sold in that state. There are also 54 prizes worth $100.

In New York, the lottery reported this 4 people won a prize of $50,000.

In states California, Florida and Maryland also sold winning tickets. From one million dollars.

While in Florida and Texas, two prizes worth $2 million fell.

The lucky jackpot winner will take home approximately $409 million, after taxes.
