Faced with oblivion, the Yorenos come together to fix the road

Considering the apathy and forgetfulness of the local and central authorities, A Yorenos Group Efforts have been made to repair the road connecting the municipality of Yoro with Santa Rita.

Citizens began building a concrete patch from the main exit of Yoro (the departmental capital) to the junction with the municipality of Morazan.

The Yorenos Group is made up of community boards, transporters and small traders in “The City of the Rain of Fish”.

To date, as announced on social networks, there are three days of grafting, the fourth will begin on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

“Yoreños Unidos por el Desarrollo,” as the non-profit organization calls itself, has raised more than 33,000 lemurs.

Hondurans living in the United States also contribute financially to the cause.

Residents Morazán, El Negrito and Santa Rita They welcomed the initiative and are expected to work on road maintenance in their respective municipalities in the coming days.

“Dear Yoro people, we will not disappoint you. We are very grateful to all the people who have cooperated in this area and donated their sand for the development of our municipality,” they said.
