ICTI has successfully implemented the Chiapas Science and Engineering Fair 2024

Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.- The Science and Engineering Fair Chiapas 2024 ended successfully with the evaluation of a total of 31 projects in a riot of creativity, innovation, originality and scientific merit of Chiapas high school students and high school students of various public and private educational institutions that emerged at the headquarters of Tuxtla Gutierrez and Tapachula.

Helmer Veras Coutinho, Director General of the Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICTI), praised the talent of the participants and referred to them as worthy representatives of the country in the national tour.

Ferras Coutinho stressed the importance of promoting scientific careers among young people, because they are the ones who, through their projects and research, work to develop better social, scientific and technological conditions in Chiapas.

In this context, after extensive deliberations and evaluations by members of the State Scholars System, regarding the results obtained from the residents of this academic and scientific day, it was decided that students from the municipalities of Simojuvil, Tapachula and Tuxtla Gutierrez will represent Chiapas in the National Stage of the Mexican Science and Engineering Fair (FEMECI ) 2024, which will be held in Aguascalientes on February 29 and March 1 of next year.

The winners of the Senior Secondary Level are: 1st place “Pinyon Project (Jatropa curcas), as an alternative in the treatment of diabetic foot”, by students of Chiapas High School, Plantel 145, Tuxtla Sur.

Second place went to the “Sustainable House Project”, from students of Colegio de Bachilleres de Chiapas, Plantel 234, Tuxtla Plan de Ayala. In third place was the “Computational Synapse Project” for students of the State College of Scientific and Technological Studies (CECyTE) 10 Simogville.

In the upper level category, the first places were won: first place, “D’esencial Solid Shampoo Project to Control Hair Loss and Dandruff,” by students of the University of Del Sur.

In second place was the “GéneSIS Project, a fun device for teaching earthquakes,” by students of the Research Institute of Risk Management and Climate Change of the University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas. Third place went to the “Photocatalytic Reactor Project for Water Decontamination,” by students of Tapachula Polytechnic University.

In this science and engineering fair, which was held in the facilities of the Museum of Chiapas, in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, and at the Polytechnic University of Tapachula, a total of 75 students participated and 31 teachers who served as advisors to the participating teams, as well as 28 evaluators from various entity institutions of the State System of Investigators (SEI). .
