International Conference on Transfer in Communication and Social Sciences – ULL

On December 4, 5 and 7, the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the University of La Laguna will host the third edition of the International Conference on Research and Transport in Communications, INTRACOM-2023, an event that will bring together more than 170 experts from invited Spanish, Portuguese and Ibero-American universities. The entire La Laguna University community to participate in.

INTRACOM-23 aims to reflect on the intersection of knowledge and the need to create a university model that is open and collaborative with society. Knowledge transfer concerns all scientific disciplines, and knowing how to communicate is essential to getting citizens to share in the benefits of our research.

In this edition, the main session of the conference (December 5) will be chaired by the Director of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), Emma Aguilar Nasher, with the conference: Interdisciplinarity and Humanism as a Basis for the Social Construction of Science. Pablo Gustavo Redondo Caicoya, Technical Director of IACTEC (Technological Commercial Cooperation Area of ​​the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands), will present the inaugural conference entitled Technology Application and Transfer to Society.

Among other activities, INTRACOM-23 will hold a roundtable on RTVE university chairs, which will focus on different applications of communications for social development. On Friday, December 7, the closing conference will be held by Professor José Carlos Hernández, from the University of La Laguna, with the Scientific Serendipity Conference: The Case of the Marine Climate Change Observatory on the Island of La Palma. This year’s edition also includes a virtual exhibition on scientific innovation policy, curated by Teresa Riesjo-Alcaide, Secretary General for Innovation at FECYT.

INTRACOM-23 is organized by the University of La Laguna in collaboration with four other Spanish universities and has institutional support from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the support and funding of the Vice Chancellor for Research and University Transfer. La Laguna, through its own research plan, in its call for “Expressions of Interest 2023”.
