UABJO will open a Master’s Degree in Forensic Genetics and Forensic Sciences – Oaxaca MX

Oaxaca, OAXA, November 29, 2023.- Given the need for experts in forensic matters throughout the country, the College of Chemical Sciences at UABJO has announced the Master’s Degree in Forensic Genetics and Forensic Sciences, which will begin in February of 2024.

This was announced by the educational authorities of the said college, within the framework of Chemist’s Day, which will be celebrated on the 1st of December, where they informed that this postgraduate course will continue for 4 semesters, and will be developed online, to provide the opportunity to professionals from all over the world. . Training specialists in forensic matters and experts is a priority for state prosecutor’s offices, as they require interdisciplinary teams in anthropology, archaeology and forensic chemistry, among other fields, said Master of Science and Professor at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, Eduardo Murillo Lopez, who He was invited to UABJO to deliver the keynote lecture “Forensic Genetics in Body Identification.”

In his speech, Director of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, Dr. Juan Luis Bautista Martinez, stated that the academic community of UABJO, as undergraduates, proposes to have experts facilitate the identification of people through advanced scientific techniques, addressing a national problem.

This Master’s degree, which will be taught by academics from national and international universities, will also include techniques for determining paternity, maternity or filiation.
