Within a dozen days, millions of users signed up Social Security Supplemental Income Scheme (SSI) will benefit from the first of two disbursements scheduled for next December.
For applicants filing individual tax returns, the amount received is up to $914 dollars.
The first distribution of funds is scheduled for Friday, December 1. Thereafter, the second installment, classified as an advance corresponding to January, will be disbursed exactly four weeks later, on December 29.
Since January 1 falls on the holiday and the weekend of December 30 and 31, there will be two deliveries in December, as payments related to January are expected.
How much is the fee?
The maximum amount that beneficiaries can get varies depending on the type of benefit application.
Individual filers can get up to $914 per month.
For couples filing joint tax returns, up to $1,371 can be paid.
On the other hand, people who are considered essential, those who live with the SSI beneficiary and provide necessary care, will receive monthly payments of up to $458 dollars.
To qualify for these payments, recipients must be at least 65 years of age and meet certain financial requirements.
In some cases, people under 65 may qualify if they are partially blind. or have a physical or mental impairment that significantly limits their daily activities for at least one year.
Minors may be eligible for SSI payments if they are partially blind or have a physical or mental condition. Additionally, they can receive payments if their parents are not SSI recipients or have limited income and savings.
It should be noted that SSI payments are different from pension payments, which can be received at the same time. However, both types of payments follow different schedules.
