One person was killed and five others were seriously injured when a fight broke out in the parking lot in front of the Duck Bar located at 1160 Airway in East El Paso early Thursday morning.
Police say a gunfight broke out and a total of six people were shot dead. It is not known how many shooters there were.
An argument broke out inside a bar in the area and spilled into the parking lot, police said.
Authorities said the shooter opened fire on people in the parking lot.
Not arrested.
Police said this was an isolated incident and they do not believe there is any danger to the community.
Police say they were dispatched to the shooting around 12:16 a.m.
Several witnesses are currently being questioned. Patrons of nearby bars had to leave their vehicles at the scene while the investigation continued.
The airway was closed in both directions from Edgemere to Viscount as part of the investigation.
