Con base en dominicanos, los campeones Acereros defenderán su título en México

Based on Dominicans, the Acereros Champions will defend their title in Mexico

Champion Acereros de Monclova is defending his title in the Mexican League Baseball (LMB) supported by a base of Dominican players including Bartolo Colon, Albuquerque, Eric Aibar and Francisco Pekero.

With one of the LMB’s most expensive payroll, US manager Pat Lestache won their first franchise tournament in 2019.

Listach 2021 intends to award Monclova the championship twice with Bartolo Colon as his main message among the rookies. The 47-year-old shooter claims to be the Latin player with the most wins in the major tournaments with a score of 247, which he has won in 21 seasons.

This year, Colon strives to show that his right arm isn’t rusty yet and although he hasn’t played professionally since 2018, he’s still a reliable player.

Albuquerque will be another alternative to Listach among shooters. Savior San Pedro de Macoris had scored 291 hits in seven years in Las Mayors

At the age of 34, Albuquerque led the Bulls team in the 2019 title by finishing second as best archer, 3, in 13 appearances averaging 3.31 in earned runs.

Aibar, 37, was key in 2019 to claiming the Steelers’ title. In 88 matches, Citizen Bunny scored an average hitting 0.319 with 10 home runs and 67 RBI.

Dominican Shortstop spent 12 years in the majors, during which time he won the Gold Glove in 2011 and attended the 2014 All-Star Games, in addition to driving in 473 rounds, recording 58 home races and hitting .271.

Peguero, with two seasons of experience in the major leagues, will live his fourth season with Monclova, who helped him in 2019 to be the champion with an average hit of 0.380 and six home runs in the post-season period, one of whom moved to the final.

In addition to the Dominican base, Listach will have other players with a big poster in the major leagues in 2021, such as second American baseman Addison Russell, winner of the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs.

The wizard also features Chris Carter, which is a home run machine. Last season, the 34-year-old California-born finished 49 times at home.

The Steelers will open the 2021 campaign next Thursday, May 20, when they face the Sultans of Monterrey.
