A waitress was shot dead by her ex-boyfriend in the restaurant she was working at and in front of customers

Ohio Police arrested the man responsible for shooting a waitress at Bob Evans’ restaurant on Friday, April 16, they reported. Local media.

Richard James Nelson, 54, entered the venue in the morning hours while Rebecca Jane Rogers, 38, was serving more than a dozen clients. The shooter opened fire on Rogers and then ran out of the back door. Diners took refuge under their tables and no one else was injured. The authorities said that the only victim was taken to hospital, where he died from his multiple wounds.

The suspect was tracked down all day and at around 8:30 PM local time, he was arrested in the East Canton town, South Cleveland. He was charged with aggravated murder, but he has not yet pleaded guilty to the charge. The channel says that he is still detained on bail of two million dollars WKYC-TV.

The investigation revealed that Nelson was Rebecca’s ex-boyfriend and had county criminal convictions. According to Jack Angelou, chief of police of Canton City, the perpetrator had “a history of domestic violence in the past”. “Very often, internal accidents lead to such tragedies,” he explained.
