Champion Carla Fermin: “The Math Olympics encourages more women to study science and numbers” Women | Youth | Winner | Champion | Science | Biomedical Engineering | Saco Olivierus School | Peru

At just 16 years old and entering the fifth grade of high school, Peruvian Carla Fermin brought glory to the country and her family. Along with 3 other guys, these talented girls achieved third place in the Olympics Females of Europe Maths 2021. Peru 21 spoke with the new winner.

From a young age, Carla remembers participating in math competitions. The first time he represented Peru, he was only 13 years old and he was also in such two-day Olympics and every day they have to solve 3 math problems.

The young champion is very proud of wearing the colors of Peru and being able to represent her country in international competitions as she actually achieved the title of world champion last year.

This is her final year as a student at Colegio Saco Oliveros, where two of the other three members of this Olympic math team are also studying. When she finishes high school, she longs to fulfill her dream of studying biomedical engineering at a university in the United States.
