FOXBOROUGH (AP) — Dak Prescott threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb in overtime and the Dallas Cowboys beat the New England 35-29 on Sunday, their first victory over the Patriots with Bill Belichick as your head coach.
Dallas has not won in New England since 1987 and was 0-5 against Belichick. The Cowboys (5-1) have five straight wins, their longest streak since 2016.
The Cowboys led by 17-14 after three quarters, and that’s when the fun started. The two teams exchanged five touchdowns in the fourth game, three of them in the last two and a half minutes.
New England (2-4) were holding on to a 21-20 lead when Cowboys superb cornerback Trevon Diggs intercepted Mac Jones and returned 42 yards for the touchdown — his seventh interception and second touchdown this season. – To lead Dallas 26-20. In the next play, Jones found Kendrick Bourne for a 75-yard touchdown. Jones contacted Jacoby Myers for a two-point transfer.
But Prescott led the Cowboys in a 40-yard attack and sent Greg Zorlein’s 49-yard goal into overtime. Dallas finished the game after New England hit their first possession, putting the Patriots 0-4 at home for the first time in 22 years with Belichick as coach.
